This all-day free Indie Rockl festival takes place in Denmark Street, London. Denmark Street (also known as Tin Pan Alley) is seeped in musical history and could be considered the epicentre of the UK capital’s musical community. Tin Pan Alley Studios is based here and many great artists have recorded here, including The Beatles, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, and The Small Faces, to name just a few.

6th Rise: London United 8th July 2006
This event will be held in Finsbury Park, London on Saturday 8th July. It is a massive outdoor live music showcase, featuring a diverse line up of live acts spanning hip hop, indie, pop, jazz, punk, reggae and more. Highlights at Rise will include performances from a selection of top artists, Graham Coxon, Buzzcocks, The Wailers, Sway, Killa Kela and Roy Ayers, as well as rising stars from the UK, with more acts to be confirmed at a later date. Along with the star musicians on the main stage, there will be six other stages including, Big Cuba Fiesta, Crescent stage, Mela stage, and Urban stage, hosting dancers and stand up comedians. other activities include a fairground, exhibition, arts and crafts and food and drink stalls. The event has been organised by the Mayor of London in partnership with the National assembly Against Racism and TUC South East Region.

8th Kelvedon Free Music Festival 8th July 2006
This event will be held at the Recreation Ground, off of Chase Road, Kelevdon, Essex on Saturday 8th July from noon. The first act will be Burning Trolleys (noon) , the winner of this year's hotly contested Battle of Bands competition. Then on the main stage is a diverse range of bands including ska band New Town Kings (12:45), The Red Hot Radiators (16:30), and the absolutely brilliant, if slightly frightening, Scary Bitches (14:35). There will also be the return of the Festival’s founder Tony Winn who, along with his band the Rainy Day Women (13:40), will be playing a tribute set to the legendary Bob Dylan.
Rising stars Koopa (15:30) will show why they are starting to trouble the charts and happily Automatic Slim (15:30?) will be back again following their slightly curtailed set last year. This year's festival will see the introduction of the 'Acoustic Tent'. It is hoped that there will be between 8 to 10 bands playing twenty minute sets between 12.30pm and 5.30pm. Artists booked to appear so far include Sophie Nash (12:30), Rizzo (13:15) as well as And His Voice Became (16:15).
Bringing the whole show to a close will be the Counterfeit Quo (18:30), the mighty Stautus Quo tribute act. They're bound to play an adrenaline charged set that will see the band crash their way through Quo's best known hits including Caroline, Down Down, Whatever You Want and Rocking All Over The World, whilst still paying tribute to glorious earlier albums like Ma Kellys', Dog of Two Head, Piledriver, Hello, 'Quo' etc.

Brasil, tô dentro! (Brasil, I’m in!) 2nd July 2006
This event with Music, Art and Football will be held at Coin Street, Riverside Walkway, and Bernie Spain Gardens on the South Bank of the river Thames from 13:00 to 19:00. It provides the chance to savour Brasil’s astounding diversity of art forms and cultural expressions. It has been organisied by JungleDrums Magazine and brings top musicians Mocotó, Dinho Nascimento and Eddie from Brasil, as well as local Brasilian performers and bands, art workshops, children activities, and special performances.
Brasil, tô dentro! will feature music from cutting-edge bands and up-and-coming Djs, in both urban and traditional art forms, to the sweet, soul-infused sounds of Forró, with its unique accordion melodies and booming North-eastern beats, and the best of capoeira and samba schools.

The Cornetto Free Music Festival consists of three free outdoor concerts by big international artists in three of the best-known squares in Italy, Milan's Piazza Duomo (23rd June), Naples' Piazza del Popolo (25th June) and Rome's Piazza del Popolo (2nd July). Sting performs in Milan on 23rd June and in Naples two days later, while international hip-hop superstars Black Eyed Peas hit the stage in Rome on 2nd July 2006.

4th City Showcase Festival 5th-9th June 2006
City Showcase, now in its fourth year, takes over the heart of London’s West End for one week (5-9 June 2006). Promoting new and emerging talent of all genres who play a series of FREE daytime and evening gigs in a variety of retail outlets and venues in Carnaby Street and Regent Street, giving the opportunity for the public to spot the stars of the future. City Showcase is a "not for profit" and a pioneering music festival.
The FREE evening gigs are held in venues such as the Borderline and 100 Club and this year we will be hosting an evening stage in Kingly Court off Carnaby Street. City Showcase continues to work with all genres of music including Urban / Jazz / Rock / Indie / Classical / Asian / Singer-Songwriter, with each night hosted by City Showcase supporters such as Xfm’s John Kennedy and Sarah Darling and DJ’s Bobby Friction, Nihal and Ras Kwame from Radio 1.
