Bournemouth Live Music Festival 24th-28th June 2006

This event will be held over 5 days between the 24th and 28th June at various locations around the town including the Town square (main stage), the Seafront (Pier Approach stage), Lower Gardens (Bandstand and Garden Marquee). The free live music on offer includes Blues, Classical, Folk and Rock.

Cornetto Free Music Festival 23rd June 2006

Sadly this event is NOT in the South-East of England, but if you happen to be in Italy, enjoy.

The Cornetto Free Music Festival consists of three free outdoor concerts by big international artists in three of the best-known squares in Italy, Milan's Piazza Duomo (23rd June), Naples' Piazza del Popolo (25th June) and Rome's Piazza del Popolo (2nd July). Sting performs in Milan on 23rd June and in Naples two days later, while international hip-hop superstars Black Eyed Peas hit the stage in Rome on 2nd July 2006.

Fete de la Musique 21st June 2006

Fast becoming one of London’s most exciting festivals, Exhibition Road Music Day is back on 21 June, following its first edition last year which attracted over 12,000 visitors. Sing, dance, learn or just listen at over 70 different indoor and outdoor performances throughout the day, in and around Exhibition Road (London SW7, tube: South Kensington). Exhibition Road is London’s premier cultural and learning quarter. Home to flourishing artistic and academic communities, it is an inspirational meeting point for the arts and sciences that welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds.

Open your ears to a whole world of sounds, from English brass bands to Iranian ensembles, from Japanese traditional music to French Nouvelle Chanson and from German DJs to Latin American samba. Whatever your own musical taste, there will be something for you.

This year’s event will feature acts such as Lo'Jo - described by The Independent as "probably one of the best live bands in the world right now”, Sonar Kollektiv's electronica artists Sirius Mo, award winning Zone One Brass Band, The Upraw - catapulted to fame through Channel 4's Rock School, Dominique A - a figurehead for nouvelle chanson scene, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kakehashi Koto Ensemble.

Farnham Free Festival 18th June 2006

In its 8th year the Farnham Free festival, held at the Fox Inn, Lower Bourne, Farnham is a show case for great Bands. This year's acts include Old Blue Moses.

4th West London GreenFest 18th June 2006

This event will be held in Parsons Green, SW6 4UL, from 13:00-17:00 on Sunday 18th June 2006, with live music throughout the afternoon from the pedal power stage, arts and crafts and community campaigns, children’s activities, vegetarian and organic food, and a showcase for green technology. You can win bikes and pick up environmental freebies.

4th City Showcase Festival 5th-9th June 2006

City Showcase, now in its fourth year, takes over the heart of London’s West End for one week (5-9 June 2006). Promoting new and emerging talent of all genres who play a series of FREE daytime and evening gigs in a variety of retail outlets and venues in Carnaby Street and Regent Street, giving the opportunity for the public to spot the stars of the future. City Showcase is a "not for profit" and a pioneering music festival.

The FREE evening gigs are held in venues such as the Borderline and 100 Club and this year we will be hosting an evening stage in Kingly Court off Carnaby Street. City Showcase continues to work with all genres of music including Urban / Jazz / Rock / Indie / Classical / Asian / Singer-Songwriter, with each night hosted by City Showcase supporters such as Xfm’s John Kennedy and Sarah Darling and DJ’s Bobby Friction, Nihal and Ras Kwame from Radio 1.
