Notting Hill Canival 27th-28th August 2006

This annual event is held in the Streets in and around Notting Hill. Since 1964 when this great festival began initially from the energies of Black immigrants from the Caribbean, particularly from Trinidad, where the Carnival tradition is very strong, and from people living locally who dreamed of creating a festival to bring together the people of Notting Hill.

Eclectica Music Festival 13th Aug 2006

This Festival takes place in St.Helens town centre, just off the East Lancs (A580) & junction 7 of the M62. Car parking is available throughout the town. headlining is the legendary Michael Franti & Spearhead, & also featuring the Oysterband, Ian McNabb, The Loungs, & Tiny Tin Lady, offers an eclectic mix of music types from rock & reggae to folk & roots that's sure to excite music-lovers everywhere.

The open-air Eclectica ’06 event features a first-class mix of firm festival favourites and flourishing new talent, and all for FREE (no ticket required)! Following in the footsteps of WOMAD and the Cambridge Folk Festival, Eclectica offers a diverse combination of music genres for all to enjoy, from rock and reggae to folk and roots. The accessible town centre location also ensures a host of amenities for visiting music fans to complement the vibrant atmosphere.

FruitStock Festival 5th-6th August 2006

This event takes place in Regents Park on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August from noon till 9pm. Now in its third year this very quirky event, attracted 110,000 people last year. It is sponsored by Innocent, who make fruit smooties, but also donates 10% of their profits to the innocent foundation, to help the local communities in the countries where they source the ingredients . It will bring together live music, family attractions, a farmers’ market, and loads of kids’ activities. Enjoy a full day out in a lively festival atmosphere, with proceeds going to charitable causes.

Creation Fest 4th-6th August 2006

Creation Fest is a FREE Christian music festival held in Woolacombe, Devon. Creation Fest is free to attend, so simply turn up and enjoy the awesome line up of bands.

6th Brightlingsea Free Music Festival 4th-6th Aug 2006

There will be several gigs around the town on the evening of Friday 4th, including Monkeezunkle, Peppermint Way, Drunk by Teatime, Riff Randell, Chris Edwards, Whirly gig, Purple Low Tones, Dean and Lee, and and evening of folk. On Saturday 5th from 12:30pm at the Western Promenade, bands including The Lightyears, Damn, Llewelyn, Cav OK, Charlie Dore, Junkyard Aliens, Flying Heroes, Adrian Nation, Spargo, Stone Shuffle Jones and The Bellarosa Connection. On Sunday there is an Acoustic event in Hurst Green, featuring Balakulanya, Brian Stevens, Roy Villanis, Sally Theobald, Charlie Dore & Julian Littman, Adrian Nation, Trad Jazz Jam.
